Richard Ibrahim studied Photography and Media at Deakin University, graduating in 2005. But his lifelong artistic experience also includes visual art, graphic design, music, film criticism and literature.
Always artistically lent, Richard drew in his spare time since childhood and illustrates occasionally, preferring traditional media including pencils and watercolours. His artistic work has been featured in exhibitions at Melbourne High School.
His musical experience includes learning and performing for voice and piano from an early age, including participating in the International XIII Semana Choral festival in Spain as part of the Melbourne Boy’s Choir in 1994 and performing for the Victorian State Opera Company in 1996 in Die Frau Ohne Schatten and Summer of the Seventeenth Doll.
Richard’s interests also include literature (being an avid reader) and film, being a self-proclaimed film aficionado and occasional film critic. Richard has critiqued for the Pun and Pundit in 2006 and Deakin’s Crossfire. He has even appeared as extras in short films, including the Latch Key Group’s A Son Of Your Own.
Having focused on photography since graduating, Richard has worked for Design Media Melbourne, the award-winning primary design studio for Madiggan Australia. Richard’s personal work also includes architecture and weddings, as well as extensive Photoshop work and retouching from his own self-teaching. Richard has also worked personally as an assistant with photographers Rob Langlois and Garry Moore.
Richard’s extensive artistic experience, digital knowledge and eye for colour and composition gives his work a distinctive creative edge, modern and stylistic.
